Took a late night stroll in Washington DC trying to catch the monuments without a lot of people around. It was very humbling and peaceful to walk among some of the great memorials. I started this walk at 11 pm on a friday night and by the time I got to the Lincoln Memorial to take those shots it was 2 am. Yet there were still masses of people out and about enjoying the sites and pushing their sleeping children in strollers. I don't know if there are ever times when the memorials are empty, maybe it is our way of keeping watch and thanking the many for their there sacrifices throughout history.
